Question by UpperCASE Computer Solutions: How to Install apple software on non-Intel systems?
I’m trying to install final cut studio 3 on an apple G4. I’m a PC guy personally but very technically inclined. I found a few guides about extracting the packages from the disks to edit the installation check information, however I’m kinda lost on how to do this. When I open any of the packages it launches the package launcher and kicks me out of the installer due to the limitation. Any know of a good step by step on how to install apple software on non-Intel based systems?

You can’t. If you’re technically inclined, you should know that Intel code will not run on PowerPC architecture.

No, Windows runs on an NTFS formatted partition which would be separate from Mac’s. The only way to run Windows without creating creating a new partition is not to bootcamp.

Sun, the makers of java, has a program called virtualbox, http://www.virtualbox.org/ , that allows you to run Windows while you are running MacOSX. It works very well and is what I use when I need to do something like that.

Question by Ben C: How can I install WordPress without losing all the indexed html pages?
I want to switch to a clean new WordPress theme for a site, but Google has indexed 2500 pages from the old site (mainly due to a calendar module creating a new page for each day). How do I ensure all those pages remain accessible for Google, without throwing up a “Page Not Found” when someone tries to access it after installing the new WordPress theme. The current site is content managed and is running pHp.

Installing a new theme will have no effect on your current WordPress posts and pages. As long as you don’t delete the posts or pages through WordPress, you will be fine when installing your new theme.

WP e-Commerce themes are not the same as WordPress Themes. You can edit the WordPress theme files with the editor under the Appearance panel but the WP E Commerce themes are edited with the editor under the Plugins panel.

Question by June Bugg: How do I install a program if an installation window doesn’t open automatically?
I’m trying to install Roller Coaster Tycoon on my Acer notebook computer (Windows XP). When I insert the disc, the disc drive makes noises like it’s reading it, but I don’t get anything on the screen, not even a basic installation window. I’ve been messing around with various things (my computer, desktop, control panel, etc.) and can’t find anything. Is there some way I can get the installation process started even if nothing automatically pops up?

explore the cd
open autorun.ini
find the name of software in the file like setup.exe

Question by : How to install mac os x on a blank hard drive?
I have the newest model of the Macbook pro and just put in a new 640 gig Seagate hard drive. When I boot up with my Mac disk, I get the apple that pops up, but from there I can not figure out how to install the OS.

While booted to your normal, internal system, open Disk Utility. Select the external drive at the left. Select the “Partition” tab. Chose a partition scheme of one or more — if you choose more than one, make the one for OS 10.6 at least 15GB (extra room for updates) or more if you will have a lot of third-party applications or don’t want to keep your iTunes Music folder and other stuff on the other partition. Click the “Options” button. Select GUID Partition Table”. Click “OK”. Select the “Mac OS Extended (journaled)” format — not “Case sensitive”. Click “Partition”. Wait.

When that’s done, boot to the OS X DVD and the external drive will appear as a choice for install destination.

I’m curious why you need an external startup drive. It will run much slower than the internal drive. If you want to use it for troubleshooting, consider burning an extra copy of the OS X DVD instead. That’s the most convenient startup source for troubleshooting.

Ive searched on internet for long, tried many tmes but all guides are so poor so I dont understand anything. Anyway I need a link for Leopard iso And a guide how to install a virtual machine mac os x without DVD with mac os and without virtualization technology because my computer doesnt have it.

I don’t think this is possible. Microsoft VM does software virtualization that does not require hardware virtualization and there is also VMWare. Again, I am not sure this is possible.
